Footpath changes for disabled users

Footpath changes for disabled users

10 August 2016

NEWCASTLE councillor Willie Clarke has welcomed a commitment to kerbs for residents with disability problems.

Councillor Clarke said that aside from the planned work at the Tollymore and Bryansford Road junction, drop kerbs were needed at other locations in the town.

He said: “Following representations from residents in the area, I lobbied Transport NI on their behalf requesting that the footpath be made user friendly for those with mobility problems, particularly for those who use walking aids, as the footpath is not fit for purpose.”
