Fifth Three Lakes Run to benefit the Down’s Syndrome Assocation

10 May 2017

THIS weekend’s Three Lakes Run outside Downpatrick is in aid of the Down’s Syndrome Association.

Now in its fifth year, the event continues to grow in popularity and is once again being organised by Downpatrick Lions Club with assistance from AtlasRunning, East Down Athletic Club and main sponsor, Oakley Fayre, Downpatrick.

The 15K course takes runners around the picturesque route of Ballydugan, Magheralagan and Loughinisland lakes and local runners will be in great company as they will be joined by Irish Marathon Championship winner Laura Graham, fresh from her success in the recent Belfast Marathon.

For runners who prefer a shorter route, there will be a 7K fun run this Saturday with all competitors chipped to record their times and medals will be awarded. For those who are not keen on running, they can take part in the 7K fun walk.

Members of the public, friends and fans are all welcome to attend and refreshments will be available at the Lakeside Inn following the fundraising event.

The race starts at 11am from the Lakeside Inn, with registration details and further information available from the AtlasRunning website, www.atlasrunning.co.uk/3-lakes-challenge where there is also a link to a JustGiving page should anyone wish to donate to Down’s Syndrome Association.
