Donald’s delight

SUPER Aussie Cameron Donald stole the show at the big Easter short circuit event at Bishopscourt on Saturday.

The Wilson Craig Honda rider scored a five-timer and in the process lifted the Enkalon Trophy for a third time to become the fourth rider in the history of the event to have taken the hat-trick of Enkalon wins, and in doing so, writing his own little piece of history.

In an action-packed two days at Bishopscourt, Donald was in dominant form as he swept aside the opposition which included Ireland’s top short circuit riders, and with Donald being more of a pure road racer, his wins on the super fast Wilson Craig Honda’s certainly turned a few heads.

Donald took a hat-trick of Superbike wins which included the feature race for the Enkalon Trophy, before taking a brace of wins in the Supersport 600 class in which he beat Antrim’s Mark Hanna and Lisburn’s David Haire.

Robert English was the dominant force in the 125cc races, which Nigel Percy and Kildare rider Thomas Lawlor shared the spoils in the two D&GW 250CC Sponsored races.

Dungannon’s Ryan Farquhar took the 650 Supertwin race one win before opting to sit out race two due to changing weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Saintfield’s Davy Morgan and Ballygowan rider Michael Pearson both head across the water this weekend to the Spring Cup event at Scarborough.

Morgan will opted for the Supertwins 650cc race while Pearson will take in the Superbike races on the GFR Honda Fireblade.
