Dean lifts Learner of the Year award at Belfast ceremony

A BALLYNAHINCH student was named a ‘Learner of the Year’ at a ceremony held at the Titantic Exhibition Centre in Belfast recently.

Dean Hayes, a former pupil at Ballynahinch Primary School, was one of a number of students who received recognition

for their work at the Council for Curriculum Examinations and Assessments’ largest award ceremony to date.

The evening celebrated technical achievements alongside GCSE and GCE qualifications.

Dean is the son of Mr and Mrs Grant Hayes, and he received his award in Occupational Studies Innovation and Technology Level 2 from CCEA Chief Executive Justin Edwards,.

Mr Edwards congratulated the winners and paid tribute to those who played a part in their success.

Dean is currently studying a BTEC National course in Creative Digital Media Production at Southern Regional College.
