Crossgar nursery blossoming as new name is unveiled

A CROSSGAR nursery is in early bloom after undergoing a name change.

Glasswater Pre-School, in the grounds of St Joseph’s Primary School at Ballynahinch Road, has been relaunched under the new name Apple Blossom.

Playgroup staff and children planted an apple blossom tree this week to mark the new name for the school, which has successfully served the local community for 18 years.

Playgroup leader Alice McCormick said management decided to opt for the name change due to confusion with another similarly named local school.

Following a committee brainstorming session, she said they decided on Apple Blossom Pre-School and a tree-planting ceremony to mark the occasion.

“We want to let people know that the name has changed to avoid any confusion in the future,” she said.

“We still have the same friendly staff in our lovely bright purpose-built mobile where children enjoy a caring, secure and stimulating environment.”
