Clough fouling

SIR, — I would like to thank Down Council’s enforcement officers for responding to my request to patrol Clough village to try and catch offenders who continually let their dogs foul in public places.

This was becoming a increasing problem within the village. I am happy that a number of people have been warned in regards to the offence and letting their dogs stray. I have been advised of a number of areas within the district with the same occurring problem and I shall bring them to the attention of the local warden.

Dog owners within the district have a duty of responsibility for their pets and I ask them to show some courtesy for neighbours.

Yours etc.,
