Clough firm McCall’s unites forces with Newcastle League

J&W McCALL Supplies Ltd. are the new sponsors of the Newcastle and District Football League.

The Clough-based company were unveiled as the league’s main sponsors last week. The three-year deal is believed to run into four figures.

The league are proud to have such a well run business as their front line supporters and look forward to many happy years together in promoting football in the area.

Company director Richard McCall said at the launch in the Burrendale Hotel in Newcastle on Thursday night: “We are very proud to be sponsoring the Newcastle & District League.

“We believe in supporting the local community we operate in by giving something back, wherever possible, through steps such as sponsoring local sporting talent.

“We look forward to following the league and wish its teams and players every success in the season ahead.’’

League chairman Robert Haworth said: “Companies like J&W McCall are the life blood of local football and without such people as these, running a league would be so much more difficult.

“We thank their board of directors sincerely for their generous sponsorship and we will do all in our power to encourage all clubs in the league to support McCall’s in whatever way they can through the sponsorship term.’’

The league kicks off this Saturday with Premier League games only. Division 1 gets underway on Tuesday, August 26, with Divisions 2 and 3 starting on Saturday, September 6.
