Car show set to move into gear at Slieve

NEWCASTLE will once again host the annual vintage, classic and sports car show at the end of the month.

The Slieve Donard Resort and Spa provides the magnificent venue for the event which once again will be raising money for Cancer Research UK.

The event, now in its 27th year, takes places over the weekend of January 27-29 with the unique indoor show run by car enthusiasts, regularly attracting around 3,000 visitors.

Filling the hotel’s grand ballroom will be more than 40 vehicles spanning 80 years of automotive history, all of them lovingly restored and maintained by their local owners.

The highlights of this year’s show include an iconic DeLorean, a collection of Ford Escort rally cars and a magnificent 1913 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. 

Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children under 12, with opening times 4pm to 10pm on 

Friday, 10am to 10pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
