A KIRCUBBIN builder has been credited for developing Northern Ireland’s ‘Best New Home’.

John Dynes and Son has scooped the prestigious Federation of Master Builders Best New Home Award for the recent construction of a large state-of-the-art family house in Carryduff.

The family company, which was established 40 years ago, was selected for its work on a 6,300 square foot family house in Carryduff incorporating unique and innovative design features, including a floating walnut staircase and a hanging stone fireplace.

The Kircubbin firm will now compete for the national category title and a prize which includes a light commercial vehicle worth up to £20,000, at a ceremony at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London in September.

Gavin McGuire, director of the Federation of Master Builders in Northern Ireland, said the awards were an opportunity to celebrate a job well done.

“John Dynes & Son should feel justly proud of their achievement in winning and we wish them every success in the national competition,” he remarked.
