Bryansford’s power keeps them on top

BRYANSFORD proved to be just too efficient for Tullylish in an entertaining game.

The visitors looked comfortable throughout the game, requiring a swarming in defence from the home side. Five early points set the pattern of the game and the Ford maintained this difference to the interval.

A goal by Fionntan O’Dowd just after the break failed to ruffle the ‘Ford’s composure. Gareth Johnston, who ran the Tullylish show, was the main threat to the visitors, but the introduction of Kalum King signalled an end to his threat.

King’s presence inspired the backs to forage forward and the flowing football, which has been the hallmark of the ‘Ford teams over the years, cut a swathe through the Tullylish defence, time after time.

Within a minute of entering the fray, King, with his first touch, won, then offloaded the ball to Danny Savage, who raced through to drive to the net.

It was obvious that the ‘Ford had the greater firepower to draw upon. Nine members of the team scored compared to four from Tullylish. However, their shooting however left much to be desired as numerous shots sailed wide of the target.

The home side had their moments, but the result never really seemed in any doubt and the ‘Ford ended the game with a six-point margin.
