DRUMLINS Integrated Primary School in Ballynahinch has hailed the selfless actions of two sibling pupils.

Brother and sister Ben and Kara Gibson were the inaugural recipients of the Baroness May Blood Award for their positive contribution to their community.

The duo help out at a local food bank by sorting and distributing items. During February, they slept on the floor of the food bank to raise money for a number of charities, including Stand By Me.

They also take part in community litter picks, help with the Samaritan Purse Shoebox Appeal and sponsor two children in Ethiopia.

The award was created by the Integrated Education Fund in memory of Baroness May Blood, who was a great advocate for integrated education.

Ben and Kara were presented with the award by their principal, Mrs Janice Marshall.
