Artist plans big exhibition

25 March 2015

ARTIST Adrian Margey is holding a major exhibition and sale of his work at the Slieve Donard Hotel on Easter weekend.

Hailed as ‘one of the rising starts of a new generation of Ulster artists’ (Belfast Telegraph), his contemporary and traditional depictions of Northern Ireland’s landscapes, iconic landmarks and musical traditions are winning him growing attention both nationally and internationally.

This latest body of work has been largely inspired by County Down and the Mournes area.  Depictions of Newcastle, the Silent Valley, Castlewellan Castle, Annalong, St John’s Point, Tyrella, Dundrum Castle, and Murlough Bay feature heavily.  Also on show will be dramatic Belfast cityscapes, portrayals of Donegal and the North Antrim Coast, together with representations of traditional Irish musicians and dancers.

With demand for the young artist’s work on an upward trajectory, local art collectors will no doubt be out in force at the Slieve Donard over Easter Weekend.  Adrian Margey will be in attendance all weekend to discuss his work.  He is now accepting commissions for 2015.  Opening times are as follows:  Saturday, April 4, 10am to 8pm, Sunday, April 5, 10am to 6pm.  Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
