8 March 2017

WORK is nearing completion on a £2m development of high quality homes in Ardglass by the Fold Housing Association.

The Mill River development offers a mix of one bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom family homes suitable for singles, couples and families. The 18 new homes are close to schools, shops and other local amenities.

The new development has been designed to provide high quality, safe and energy efficient homes which can be adapted to meet any future needs. The Ardglass properties have been built by P&K McKaigue Building Contractors Ltd.

South Down MP Margaret Ritchie has welcomed the new social housing scheme in and is pleased it will help meet meet housing need in the area.

“This project will provide secure and affordable new-build homes for those on the housing waiting list,” the MP continued.”Too often, people on the housing list struggle to find suitable accommodation in their area of choice. This development in Ardglass will create modern homes for people in an area that has few re-lets available.”

Miss Ritchie added: “I am delighted that people will be assured of modern accommodation in the centre of the village.”

The Fold Housing Association is encouraging anyone who would like to register an interest in the new homes to contact the Housing Executive’s office in Downpatrick, telephone 03448 920900. Alternatively, contact can be made with Maeve McLoughlin, Fold’s senior housing officer, telephone (028) 9039 7126.
