BIG-HEARTED pupils from Cumran Primary School in Clough took part in a sponsored walk last Friday.

The pupils walked from Seaforde to Clough to raise money for a new wheelchair for Ellen Herron, whose mum, Pamela, is the school secretary.

Ellen has a condition called Williams Syndrome which is a rare congenital disorder that occurs randomly and affects one in 18,000 people in the UK.

Ellen enjoys going for walks and runs in her wheelchair.

Mrs Rhonda Moles, explained: “These walks are a very important part of Ellen’s life and so we believe she needs the best wheelchair possible.”

Over 200 children and many parents and friends took part in the walk and everyone commented on how they enjoyed participating in such a worthwhile event.
