SIR, — I am writing to let you know how much I enjoyed reading a few weeks ago the farewell tribute in the Down Recorder to Danny Murray, who has retired as caretaker of Our Lady and St Patrick’s Primary School, Downpatrick.
It was a very well deserved write-up for such a good caretaker.
I must point out, though, that it’s a great pity Our Lady & St. Patrick’s doesn’t feature often enough in our local paper.
There are lots of happenings which we never see published — confirmations, First Communion photos, fun days, different awards for pupils which the readers never hear of.
Why is this so when all other schools in our area get great coverage week after week?
I would ask the teachers of the school to take more interest and supply the Down Recorder with such material so that we can see Our Lady and St. Patrick’s are not left out.
Yours etc,
VERY ANNOYED GRANDPARENT,
Downpatrick,
(Name and address supplied).
