DOWNPATRICK Tennis Club captain Matt Owen welcomed a good crowd of members for the annual internal tournament earlier in August.
The weather was bright and breezy, and the short doubles matches were full of competitive action and fun, while the refreshments and camaraderie between matches added to the occasion.
Thanks to all club members who provided food and drinks, including the prize-worthy pavlova made by vice-captain Evelyn Mooney.
Whilst the picturesque setting is amazing, the courts have certainly seen better days, but that is set to change, with the club hoping to move to the brand new courts at the new Down High School on the Strangford Road next year.
The club has long had a good relationship with Down High and would like to thank them for their partnership.
The prize winners on the day were as follows: First place, Tracey Rodgers and Mark McNally; runners-up, Rosemary Porter and Allan Liddell; third place, Brian Mooney and Clare Magilton.
