LADY luck shone down on Angela Kenmore for her Lady Captain’s Day at St Patrick’s Golf Club on Saturday.
A welcome window in the weather meant that the ladies escaped the day’s frequent deluges and almost miraculously went round rain free.
Heavy showers early in the morning had put the competition under threat and the afternoon downpours meant that Mrs Kenmore’s male guests got a soaking.
But not a of rain fell on the ladies, who also had the benefit of not having to play out of the water-logged bunkers.
Despite the weather prediction, there was a great turnout and a thrilling finish.
Sharon Heaney and Anne Teggart finished tied at the top of the leaderboard with 39 points, but it was Sharon who took the Lady Captain’s prize thanks to a better back nine.
With Anne having to settle for the runners-up spot, third place went to Patricia McCormick, who came in with 38 points.
