Saintfield Horse Show success

THIS year’s Saintfield Horse Show on Saturday at Eugene Milligan’s “magnificent venue” in Castlewellan was hailed as one of the best shows and attracted a large number of entries — despite the impact of the coronavirus lockdown.

Competitors came from all over the island and were delighted with the huge, flat rings and the well laid out ground.

Show director Joan Cunningham said: “There was sun, fun and something for everyone who attended. It was wonderful to see people laughing and enjoying themselves again after such a long, horrible lockdown.

“We are delighted with the new venue and Eugene Milligan couldn’t do enough to help make everything perfect.

“My thanks goes to the judges, stewards, sponsors, competitors, the media and every person who helped in any way to make the show such a massive success.”

All money raised from the show will go towards the second phase of the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride Uganda Bore Hole Fund.
