EAST Down Pony Club recently celebrated another year of success at their annual prize night.
Junior and senior members were in attendance to be rewarded for their many achievements, both in the UK and closer to home.
Cathy Campbell, Caitlin Brown and Toni Quail gave the members a brief insight into their experiences eventing in England during the summer. Alice Patterson, Joanna McEwen and Alanna Rogan extended their thanks to the East Down members and committee for attending a forest ride held recently in aid of Habitat for Humanity and the Saphara Project which the girls are participating in this summer.
The Strangford Cup was awarded to Sinead Boyd for qualifying and competing at the UK Dressage Championships and also the UK Eventing Championships.
The senior boys tetrathlon team received the Down Veterinary Cup for qualifying for the UK Championships at Hartpury and competing at the South of Ireland Tetrathlon Championships.
The Rea Timbercraft Cup went to the intermediate dressage team comprising Caroline Delaney, Joanna McEwen and Sinead Boyd .
The Tullymurry Cup was presented to the junior showjumping team which included Lauren Gabbie, Ben Rowlatt McCormick, Sophie Price and Molly Evans. The team came second at the area showjumping competition.
The Committee Cup was awarded for eventing this year. Cathy Campbell, Caitlin Brown and Toni Quail qualified for the Novice Eventing Championships in England as individuals.
The Senior Russell Cup, selected from nominations made during the senior camp, went to Paddy Erskine ahead of runner-up Ryan Truesdale.
