Peter raises hundreds for Air Ambulance

28 October 2020

A BIG-HEARTED Newcastle man has raised £1,000 for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.

Peter Morgan recently ran 11 times around Castlewellan Lake to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

Peter, who works at Wood Lodge Nursing Home in Castlewellan, wanted to do something to support the charity following an incident the Air Ambulance had been called to.

“I knew someone who had been helped by the service, and I know how important it is that we have an air ambulance for our community,” he said.

Peter was joined along the route by work colleagues John Ward, Maria Robb, Michael McKee, Tiernagh Murray and Patrice Mahon.

Also doing their own laps in support of Peter were his clubmates from Newcastle AC and his sons, Daragh and John.

Peter would like to thank everyone who supported him on the day and those who donated so generously.
