MR Henry Alphonsus Colhoun, who died suddenly at his home, 32 The Links, Strangford, on Wednesday, March 30, following bypass surgery, was a retired nurse. He was 71.
Known to all as Billy, he worked at Downshire Hospital in Downpatrick where he was a valued member of the nursing staff.
Also highly respected in his community, he spent a lot of his time in Portaferry where he made many good friends. He took a great interest in Portaferry Gala Week and the Narrows regattas. He also enjoyed watching soccer and rugby and followed the fortunes of Manchester United and Ulster.
Requiem Mass in Stella Maris Church, Strangford, on Saturday, April 2, was celebrated by Father John McManus, PP.
Billy is survived by his six sisters, Anne, Theresa, Marion, Mary, Helen and Sandra, and two brothers, Paddy and Gerry.
