Mr Dennis Rodgers

THE tragic death of Mr Dennis Rodgers, of St John’s Terrace, Hilltown, and formerly of Downpatrick, has caused widespread shock and sadness.

Mr Rodgers, who was 43, died after he fell down a hole in the back yard of a house in Rathfriland where he was living at the time. His body was discovered on March 30.

Mr Rodgers, who was a plasterer, was a kind, friendly, outgoing man, who was extremely popular and highly regarded.

In his younger days he enjoyed looking after pigeons. In later years his chief interests were spending time with his family and walking his dog, Marley.

Fr Jarlath Cushenan, PP, celebrated Requiem Mass in St John’s Baptist Church, Ballygorian, Hilltown, on Monday, April 4, which was followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Sympathy is extended to his wife, Sharon, daughter Rebecca, son Patrick, brothers, sisters and the wider family circle.
