MISS Monica Kelly, of Knocknashinna Road, Downpatrick, passed away in the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald, on January 9 at the age of 86.
A retired laundry worker, Miss Kelly was a hard-working woman, who was just 14 when she went to work for the first time at Shrigley tannery. On many occasions she made the journey from Downpatrick on bicycle.
Outward going and sociable, she enjoyed the company of her many friends. One of her greatest delights was looking after her nieces and nephews.
Requiem mass in St Patrick’s Church, Downpatrick, on January 11 was conducted by Fr Liam Toland.
