THE Killyleagh Summer League rounds off its season tonight.

The final round of games are due to be played at the Bridge Centre playing fields, starting at 7pm.

The seniors are due to kick off at 8pm.

In the year in which the Women’s World Cup dominated the summer, it was appropriate again that the senior girls were involved in some of the best action of the night.

Ellie Mae Carson was in unstoppable form as she slammed home seven goals. The Heron twins, Beth and Holly, were also in form with Kelsey Murray and Bea Adair both playing well in defence.

Robyn Jennings and Rihanna Jennings also played well.

Thomas Adair was the stand out player for the boys, helping himself to four goals. Cristiano Fernandez played well in defence with Alfie Hagan also starring in goal.

There were plenty of stars in the senior section, with loads of goalmouth action.

The penalty queens were Ellie Mae Carson and Kelsey Murray, with Cristiano Fernandez and Thomas Adair the P5 kings.

The senior penalty kings were Adam Sullivan, Dylan McCracken, Cameron Macjewski and Healy.

Juniors

Devon McHugh had the winning team in the junior section, with Tajus Romlaska and Harry Anderson bossing affairs and getting among the goals.

Sam Bridges, Kayden Blaney, Noah Marshall, the Breen twins (Leon and Preston), Liam Henderson, Daniel Hunter, Oran McCleod, Jake Stronge and Lleyton Jackson all played well.

The penalty kings were Jake Stronge, Kayden Blaney and Lleyton Jackson.

Minors

There was action galore after the holiday break in the minor section.

The minor penalty kings were Harley Hagan, Jacob Munyangaju and Harry Baggley.

Tinies

Numbers were down after the holiday break, but it proved to be a night to remember, nevertheless, with plenty of action.

Star players were Jacob Walsh, Levi McDowell and Matthew Millership.

For the girls, Darcy Sullivan, Tullulah Healy, Bella Henderson, Kate Green and Chloe Brown all played well.

The penalty queens were Darcy Sullivan and Kate Green, with Matthew Millership the penalty king.

The league’s presentation night takes place this Friday at 7pm in the Bridge Centre.

This is open to all children who have attended at least half of the Summer League sessions this season.

Due to rising costs and the loss of three weeks’ play this summer, parents are asked to support the one fundraising initiative the league organises each year, a ballot, for which tickets will be available tonight and on Friday night.

We would welcome any prizes for the ballot.
