Emmerdale stars arrive in Newcastle

6 February 2019

EMMERDALE fans will be glued to their TV screens when Newcastle promenade provides the back in an emotional storyline involving popular vet Paddy Kirk.

Locals were surprised to see actors Dominic Brunt, who plays Paddy, Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle) and Lucy Pargeter (Chas Dingle) in the seaside town on Monday.

Many local people lined up to get their pictures taken with the actors in between filming.

The soap TV crew were in Northern Ireland to film a programme to be broadcast on Tuesday, February 26.

Both Brunt and Charnock are regular visitors to Northern Ireland with their support of the annual Spirit of Northern Ireland Awards.

However, a new face which was spotted — that of actor Joshua Richards — is also set to intrigue local fans as Paddy struggles to accept some bombshell news.

Avid viewers will know that when Mandy Dingle returned to Emmerdale, she delivered news which left Chas and Marlon reeling and with a huge moral dilemma.

After much soul-searching they risked devastating Paddy by revealing his real father could be a wrestler called Bear Wolf.

Played by Richards, Bear Wolf is a professional wrestler who, despite his age, is still doing his best to pursue a wrestling career.

In light of this news Chas and Marlon will convince Paddy to attend a wrestling convention in order to confront Bear Wolf and find out if he really is his dad.

Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks said: “We are absolutely delighted to have an actor of Joshua’s calibre join our show. An actor of immense talent and charisma, he’s a brilliant addition to the Emmerdale team.

“It proves quite the adventure when Paddy and Marlon track Bear down in Belfast as Paddy’s life is turned upside down by boisterous Bear. However, Bear isn’t the only familiar face our villagers find in Belfast.”
