ANNAHILT teenager Daniel Harper is set for an exciting new chapter in his burgeoning career after being signed as a member of the new BMW Junior Team for the next two seasons, which will see him make his international racing debut as a manufacturer-backed driver.

Following his sensational recent spell competing in the UK, Harper has been hand-picked by one of the biggest and most successful manufacturers in global motorsport to be part of their exclusive young driver development programme.

2020 will mark a comeback for the prestigious BMW Junior Team name. It was launched in 1977 and made headlines as the first factory team in German racing to field a team made up solely of young drivers, and BMW’s commitment to nurturing talent has continued ever since.

Harper will be embarking on a “holistic, first-class, intensive” development programme across the next two seasons, with fitness and mental training camps at Formula Medicine as well as team building through the three BMW Junior Team drivers living together in shared accommodation.

On-track, a comprehensive race training programme will take place at the iconic Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit. In 2020, Harper will complete the entire season of the VLN Endurance Series and the prestigious 24 Hours of Nürburgring event.

As part of the programme, Harper will receive mentorship from Jochen Neerpasch.
