THREE members of Crossgar Harriers raised over £5,000 for charity by taking part in last year’s Belfast Marathon.
Linda Flynn, Tara Leathem and Elaine McCaffrey ran in memory of Linda’s sister, Orla, who passed away four years ago, and raised the fantastic sum of £5,275 for Prader-Willi Syndrome NI (PWS).
Linda and her family wish to express their sincere heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated.
“The response was overwhelming and words cannot convey how much your kindness and generosity means to all,” she said.
“A very special thank you to the Harriers, especially Tara and Elaine who supported me not just physically but emotionally on this precious journey.”
PWS is a rare disorder and therefore doesn’t receive a great deal of funding in NI. Giving is not just about making a donation, it’s about making a difference.
Linda added: “Through your kindness families touched by PWS will be able to go on holiday and receive the much-needed support to spend valuable time with their loved ones and capture treasured memories.
“We feel privileged to have shared Orla’s too short life, and the countless memories of her will stay with us forever.”
