Chris cranks up Christmas fun

Chris cranks up Christmas fun

1 December 2021

TURKEYS, toys, nostalgia and noise are on the menu which will be served up on the Chris Scott Show on FM105 Down Community Radio tonight.

Join Chris from 7-8pm as he chats with Killyleagh butcher Alfie Murray, who talks about the life of a turkey in the run-up to Christmas — and also suggests a few good cooking tips.

Chris then goes to Newcastle where he pops into Thumbelina, a traditional toy shop, and meets with its proprietor, Audrey Byrne. Chris brings along some of his own toys which he has kept for almost 50 years, including his first teddy bear, marbles, family snap cards, a number of toy vehicles, Joe 90 and a Basil Brush figure.

Music this week from Huey Lewis and the News, Bing Crosby, Boney M and Ella Fitzgerald.

Later on the Castlewellan Studio Players return with the penultimate episode of the second series of The Adventures of Jonathan No Middle Name Jackson, which has been written for local radio by Anthony McFadden.

If you miss tonight’s show you can tune in for a repeat on Sunday from 8-9pm. If you are outside the FM signal area you can tune in online at https://onlineradiobox.com/uk/105downcommunity/
