Charity benefits from tea party

14 November 2012

STAFF of Mullan Gallagher Dental Group have thanked the local community for its support during a recent tea party that raised £2,400 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

With the generous support of patients, friends, family and members of the wider community, the team raised the sum to support vital services for cancer patients and their families in Northern Ireland.

Thanking everyone who donated to the event, Mullan Gallagher Dental Group practice principal, Ciara Gallagher, said that the team was “overwhelmed.”

“Not only did we raise a staggering £1,400 on the day, but patients have been hugely generous in the run-up to our event, and the donations have continued to pour in since. We couldn’t be happier,” she said.

“It’s most important that we express our sincere appreciation to the local businesses which made exceptionally generous donations to our raffle.

“Ardglass Golf Club, Cy Kearney & Son Motors, Donnelly’s Menswear, Curran’s Steakhouse and Flowers by Tracy all made very welcome donations to our auction and raffle.

“Likewise the donations made by Hanlons, Richard’s Butchers, I.K. Meats, McCartan Shoes, Gordons Chemist, Halfords and Curley’s all contributed hugely to the sums raised at our event.

“We’re very proud of our place in the Downpatrick community, and we plan to continue going the extra mile in the care we provide.

“Our ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ provided an excellent outcome for cancer patients, but was also an opportunity for us to make personal contributions.”
