BOMB disposal experts were called to the Mournes last week after reports of a of suspected World War 2 device being found.

Specialist officers were tasked to the Trassey Road area outside Bryansford last Tuesday after walkers found several objects.

The operation was the second of its kind in the Mournes area within a matter of days, coming after a World War 2 bomb was found on Commedagh.

Police confirmed that the discovery of suspected wartime munitions on June 4 came just days after an old bomb was found near the top of Slieve Commedagh.
