Ballynahinch gas installer receives work recognition

A LOCAL man has been honoured for his services to the province’s gas industry.

Ballynahinch-based installer David Young was recognised at the annual Northern Ireland Gas Industry Awards.

The awards dinner, hosted by Phoenix Natural Gas recognised and rewarded individuals and companies who have made a significant contribution to the growth of the natural gas industry locally.

David is one of three individuals to receive the prestigious accolade for work through his East Down installation company, David Young Plumbing & Heating.

Commenting on his win, David said: “I’m honoured to accept this award which represents the pinnacle of achievement within the natural gas industry.

“Having served as a gas industry apprentice I am delighted to have established my own company and to be growing the business as natural gas becomes available to customers through the East Down network extension.”

He added: “I’m excited about the future of the business as we continue to bring the benefits of natural gas to more people and communities and I’m delighted to be recognised by industry peers as a leading installation company in the domestic sector with this prestigious award.”

Congratulating David on his success, Michael McKinstry, Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Natural Gas, said: “This prestigious awards ceremony continues to shine a light on those individuals and companies within Northern Ireland’s gas industry who have made a significant contribution through innovation.
