Ardian’s art exhibition in Newcastle

Ardian’s art exhibition in Newcastle

22 August 2018

A MAJOR sale of Irish art takes place at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa this weekend.

The exhibition features the work of Adrian Margey who has been hailed as “one of the rising starts of a new generation of Ulster artists.”

Adrian’s work is in high demand at home and overseas.  This particular exhibition places a strong focus on the landscape and landmarks of Co Down and the Mournes area.

Adrian has two distinct styles.  One he labels as ‘traditional’ – inspired in the main part by the Irish Impressionists.

The other he labels loosely as contemporary.  It is characterised by bold colours and strong form which echo the aesthetics of modern living.  This style makes reference to the Naïve School and Fauvism and has been influenced by time spent in South America.

This exhibition will celebrate the landscape and landmarks of Co Down and the Mournes.

Contemporary and traditional depictions of Murlough Bay, Newcastle, Annalong Harbour, St John’s Point, the Cooley Mountains, Rostrevor and Dundrum Bay will take centre stage.

Visitors to this stunning new exhibition will also enjoy dramatic Belfast cityscapes and interpretations of the artist’s beloved North Coast.  Representations of traditional Irish musicians and dancers will also be on show.

Adrian will be in attendance all weekend to discuss his work and is now accepting commissions.

Opening times are Friday, August 24, 6pm to 9pm; Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, 11am to 8pm, and Monday, August 27, from 11am to 6pm.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome. An online preview of the exhibition can be viewed at www.adrianmargey.com. For more information, telephone 07841 593762.
