Air Ambulance thanks accountancy firm

11 December 2019

A LEADING  chartered accountancy firm with offices in Downpatrick, Belfast and Newtownards has been thanked by Air Ambulance NI after it donated thousands of pounds to the charity.

M B McGrady and Co is no stranger to offering support throughout the local community and its sponsorship initiatives and charitable donations have seen numerous local and regional organisations go from strength to strength.

A charity partner with Air Ambulance NI (AANI) for the past two years, the accountancy practice has raised over £4,000 through a number of successful events, including the ‘Ultimate Aqua Challenge’ in 2018.

Earlier this year, M B McGrady and Co held the first ever ‘Beer and Bubbles’ charity 5km at Finnebrogue Wood outside Downpatrick.

MB McGrady & Co director Conaill McGrady said the firm was delighted to be able to support Air Ambulance NI.

He continued: “The work that the charity does is truly remarkable, so if our donation can even just go a small way to helping them then it is all worthwhile.

“A very big thank you goes to all those people who sponsored, donated, gave their time and helped in some way, without whom the fundraising would not be possible.”

Kerry Anderson, AANI’s head of fundraising, said she was delighted with the response to the local

company’s events to raise money on its behalf.

“MB McGrady have held some fantastic events, unique and fun for all the family and that brought the community together to raise money for and raise awareness of the work of the Air Ambulance.

“The Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) is tasked on average every single day. To ensure this is sustained, we need to raise £2m each year so public support is crucial.”

She added: “The money raised by M. B. McGrady during the course of the partnership will make a lifesaving difference and help towards maintaining the high level of services provided by Air Ambulance NI.”
