Actress leads praise for winners of New Horizons awards

AN annual awards ceremony for participants in the AMH New Horizons Project has been held at Down Museum.

AMH New Horizons offers people with mental health needs the opportunity to improve their skills, qualifications and experience through their involvement in a wide range of training, work preparation and personal development programmes.

Actress Olivia Nash, best known for playing Ma in Give My Head Peace, presented the awards with 70 clients receiving NVQ’s in horticulture, the European

Computer Driving Licence as

well as many accredited qualifications in a variety of subjects such as confidence building, information technology and employability.

The Special Endeavour Award was presented to Martin Kelly, in recognition of his continued perseverance in improving his mental health, qualifications and personal development.

There was also an award for the photographer of the year and the pool champion.
