Uplifting battle to help charity

29 October 2014

LARGE pink, knitted bras were on show in Ballynahinch as a local women’s group took to the streets in a fundraising campaign.

The Knit and Natter group took to the streets on Thursday, sporting their eye-catching pink bras, to raised money for breast cancer research.

The ladies chose breast cancer research after one of their members previously suffered from the disease.

This isn’t the first time the ladies have embarked on a fundraising initiative — they have collected clothing for Helping Hands Romania and for the homeless.

And this time around they got the support of the men when the members of Ballynahinch Lions Club gave the proceeds from a coffee morning to the ladies fundraising drive.

The group also wants to extend an invitation to any women that would like to join the group.

They meet at Ballynahinch Library every Thursday between 11am and-12.30pm for a chance to socialise, come up with some new fundraising ideas and a bit of craic.
