TWO men died in road incidents over the weekend in Co Down.

A 41 year-old cyclist died after he collapsed on the Ballynahinch Road in Dromara at around 1pm on Saturday.

Philip Corr, a father of four, was out on a run with the Belfast-based Titanic Quarter Cycling Club (TQCC).

Emergency services tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 60s died on Sunday following a three-vehicle collision on the Castleward Road, near Strangford.

Police say that shortly after 11.30am a motorcycle, a Renault Clio and a Nissan Qashqai were involved in the crash.

A rapid response paramedic and ambulance crew were dispatched, as well as the Air Ambulance, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Castleward Road between the Bannaghan Road and the Churchtown Road was closed in both directions for a time to allow for investigations.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, or may be able to help with enquiries, to contact them on 101, quoting reference 608 7/4/19.
