Pair bound for Crufts after competition win

A DOWNPATRICK dog trainer and his obedient springador pup will be off to Crufts next spring.

Ciaran Madine and handsome 18 month-old Oskar qualified for Crufts at the weekend when they impressed judges in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme Pre-Beginner Obedience Stakes in Stirling.

Oskar, who has not yet been beaten in a competition, will take part in the obedience section of the nationwide event in March.

Auxiliary nurse Ciaran has only recently started to train Oskar after becoming a member of the Down District Dog Training Club.
