Garden makeover for Iniscora project

Garden makeover for Iniscora project

27 April 2016

INISCORA residents may get their green fingers at the ready following a garden makeover by local Lions Clubs members.

Lions from Newcastle and Downpatrick joined community volunteers to complete a newly refurbished garden at Iniscora House, which is one of several homes available through Mainstay Down Residential Project.

The volunteers created adequate shade and seating in the garden as well as erecting a greenhouse and safe raised garden beds.

A gazebo and timber fence were treated while an external water supply was plumbed.

Organisers of the event would like to thank apprentices from South Eastern Regional College who did much of the heavy work as well as their supervisors

Malachy Magee and Gary Gordon.

Volunteers and residents were joined by Helen Taylor, chief executive of Mainstay DRP and Dr Patrick Moore, Chairman, who thanked all the workers for their sterling work on Saturday.
