Eoghan heading to Theatre of Dreams

A FOOTBALL mad Downpatrick youngster makes his Champions League debut tonight.

Seven year-old Eoghan Convie will step out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United mascot in tonight’s game against PSV Eindhoven.

The seven year-old Our Lady and St Pat’s pupil got the opportunity after his dad, Ciaran, won a

competition organised by Mastercard,

“I bought the two tickets for the game through Mastercard and that automatically entered us into the Player Escort Programme for the game,” Ciaran explained.

“I couldn’t believe it when I received an email telling me we had won.

“I am just as excited as Eoghan and we can’t wait to meet the Manchester United players. “He has been at Anfield to see Liverpool play, but going to the Theatre of Dreams is something else.”

Ciaran added: “Eoghan loves watching football, but he also loves playing it and he looks forward to every Sunday morning when he plays for Downpatrick FC.

“He just lives and breathes football and this really is the trip of a lifetime for him.”
