Daisy Lodge receives donation from Amazon Delivery Station

A NEWCASTLE charity supporting children and young adults suffering from cancer has received a generous donation from an online delivery company giant.

Daisy Lodge welcomed the £1,000 donation from Amazon Delivery Station and plans to use the donation to provide a child undergoing cancer treatment with short break to Daisy Lodge.

Daisy Lodge provides a lifeline for every young person diagnosed with cancer or living with a parent with the disease during and after treatment so that no family has to face cancer alone. During their stayed at the centre, families are able to spend time together far away from the pressures of treatment and hospital visits.

The Cancer Fund for Children, supports the work of Daisy Lodge. To celebrate the donation, members of the local Amazon team recently visited the charity’s Belfast headquarters on Airport Road.

The visit was led by Amazon Belfast Delivery Station Manager, Jim Press, who previously supported Cancer Fund For Children by taking part in its annual Bog Run.

He said: “The charity plays a vital role in our community, offering help for children, young people and their families when they need it most.

“When the chance came up to support their efforts, we were happy to get involved. On behalf of everyone at Amazon in Belfast, we’d like to wish the charity well in its continued efforts to support our community.”

Lauren Cunningham, Relationship Manager from Cancer Fund for Children, remarked: “It’s fantastic to get this support from a business like Amazon.

“Like many charities, we rely on the support of our community to help those in need and I’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Jim and his team at Amazon in Belfast for this generous donation.”
