ROADS Service officials have been asked to address safety concerns at a busy rural road outside Downpatrick.
South Down MP Margaret Ritchie and Councillor Patsy Toman met with
concerned residents at the Buckshead Road last week following a spate of recent accidents.
Miss Ritchie said there is a need for warning signs to alert drivers to a number of bad bends along this particular road.
“This road is not only particularly busy with local traffic, but is a main route for visitors to the area heading for Tyrella beach,” the MP continued.
Miss Ritchie said she and Councillor Toman have asked the Roads Service to respond to local concern and assess the Buckshead Road with a view to providing warning signs for drivers.
