Bank moves across street for new branch opening

30 November 2016

DANSKE Bank has officially opened its new branch in Downpatrick.

The bank has relocated the short distance across Market Street from its former home to provide customers with a modern facility as part of a significant investment in the town centre.

Danske district manager, Aisling Press, said the reaction from customers has been “really positive,” explaining the new branch design is very different from the old one or any other bank in the town.

“We have made a significant investment in Downpatrick to offer our customers a modern and enhanced banking experience,” she continued.

“There is a much more open and welcoming feel and faster solutions for everyday banking. At the same time, the same friendly staff are there who are on hand to help with service options and all our customers’ banking needs.”

The Downpatrick branch is open all day on Saturdays and there will be some fun family activities in the run up to Christmas.

Aisling added: “We have a great team in Downpatrick and they are looking forward to welcoming old and new customers alike.”

South Down MP, Margaret Ritchie, who was at the official opening of the new branch, has congratulated Danske on its new state-of-the-art premises.

“The new branch represents a significant investment and underlines Danske’s commitment to banking and financial services in Downpatrick,” she said. “I am delighted Danske Bank has retained jobs and its services in Downpatrick.

“This new branch will offer an accessible and attractive base for customers who are looking for faster delivery of day-to -day banking services, alongside access to expertise and knowledge in their local town.”

Miss Ritchie added: “The new premises will also help in the regeneration of Downpatrick and I would like to offer my congratulations to the bank and the staff on this new modern facility.”
