A BALLYNAHINCH pensioner has been told he faces jail after being found guilty of child sex abuse.
A jury found Christopher O’Hare (70) guilty on 13 counts of indecent assault involving two girls.
The offences took place at his home between 1977 and 1990.
O’Hare, who faced 25 charges in total, was found not guilty on 11 counts, including four of rape. The jury failed to reach a decision on the remaining charge.
Judge Piers Grant QC ordered pre-sentence reports to be prepared for March 24.
“You have been found guilty by a jury on a substantial number of counts,” he said. “It is absolutely inevitable that due to the serious and substantial number of counts on which you have been found guilty that a custodial sentence will be imposed.”
The judge ordered victim impact reports to be prepared and ordered O’Hare to sign the sex offenders register.
