Mrs. S. Hanna
MUCH sorrow has been expressed at the death of Mrs. Susan Hanna, who passed away at her home, 48 Strangford Road, on April 15. She was 77.
Mrs. Hanna (née Hynds) was a widow who was devoted to her family, particularly her grandchildren. A retired factory worker, her hobbies included gardening.
Requiem mass was celebrated in St. Malachy’s Church, Kilclief on Friday, April 18, and was followed by interment in Dunsford cemetery. Fr. Charles Cross officiated.
Mrs. Hynds is survived by her sons Seamus and Malachy, daughters Mary and Patricia, daughter-in-law Shirley, Patricia’s partner Damien, grandchildren and family circle.

Mr. H. Harris
MR. Harry Harris, of Russell Park, Downpatrick, who died in the City Hospital, Belfast, on April 18 aged 87, was a former Royal Air Force serviceman who saw active service during the Second World War.
For many local soccer players, he will be best remembered as one of the guiding figures in the Downpatrick Youth Football League.
Harry had a lifelong interest in football and for 25 years he was a referee in the youth league, faithfully turning up at Dunleath Park every Saturday morning and passing on his love of the game to new converts.
His 30 years of service in the RAF included World War 2, during which he served in North Africa. After leaving the RAF he spent the rest of his working life as a civil servant at the RAF station at Bishopscourt.
He eventually retired in 1987 and was presented with a commendation from the Air Officer Commanding for meritous service to the Royal Air Force.
From 1992 to 1997 he was a crossing patrol man at Convent of Mercy Primary School, a job which he loved.
The last surviving member of a family of seven, Mr. Harris is survived by his wife Mary, sons Kieran and Aidan, daughters Michelle and Linda, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marie.
Canon Sean Rogan officated at the funeral service which was held at St. Patrick’s Church on April 20 and was followed by interment at St. Patrick’s cemetery, Killough Road.
